Cyrus Todiwala MBE, award winning Indian chef of Café Spice Namasté Restaurant, has created a collection of truly exotic chutneys, pickles and spiced oils. Hand-made from his own restaurant kitchens using only the freshest, most carefully sourced ingredients.
Cyrus’ IndividualRange was launched several years ago in response to the overwhelming demands of his restaurant guests and the collection includes mouth-watering varieties such as Grundon’s Apple & Mango Chutney and Kerala Beef pickle. The recipes embrace the best of British produce including fresh Cheltenham beetroot, sweet Russet apples and organic Denham Estate Venison. Some of the pickles in the range are also available at Harvey Nichols Foodmarket in London.
A special creation in the range is the Parsee Wedding Pickle. Of the Parsee religion himself, Cyrus has drawn on his fascinating cultural heritage to bring together a traditional accompaniment to any Parsee Wedding Feast. Shredded carrots, diced baby figs, chopped dates and golden sultanas combine to make this celebration pickle with jaggery (raw cane sugar) cane vinegar and crushed matured mustard.
